Heavy Rents Specialist

What You Will Be Doing:
Heavy Rents Specialist takes care of all customer inquiries, in person or over the phone. Determines customer rental needs, negotiates rental rates, develops rental contracts, works with Heavy Rents Service coordinators to schedule maintenance and repairs, and schedules transportation on all rental assets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Handles all rental needs for both internal and external customers, including swaps for sold machines, demonstrations and loaners.
- Ensures that market rates are utilized for all rentals and the associated transportation.
- Successfully negotiates rental rates and transportation to achieve desired market share and profitability.
- Maintains minimum return to ready to ensure maximum time and financial utilization of the fleet.
- Handles customer disputes successfully in a professional manner.
- Complete training and serve as a team member in support of Yancey Bros Co. strategic programs, projects, and initiatives.
- Works with the Heavy Rents Manager to ensure that we maintain an optimum fleet for time and financial utilization.
- Ensures that all assets are properly accounted for on the proper agreement at all times.
- Ensures that all customer damage is properly charged to the responsible customer.
- Actively cares and advocates safety at Yancey Bros Co. Adheres to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.
- Handles all invoicing for both internal and external customers.
- Actively works with customers to find the right solutions for their job based on knowledge obtained from Cat University online training.
- Serves as a liaison between service department and sales department.
- Ensures that Net Loyalty scores are achieved to meet Cat guidelines.
- Reviews, maintains and sets up Cat National Accounts customers.

- Other administrative duties as assign by manager
Who We Are Looking For:
To be successful in this position you should have a prior experience in the rental, sales, or marketing of heavy diesel equipment. Good communication abilities will be essential for maintaining relationships with your customers. You should possess a sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to work both with a team and independently is essential to this position as well.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university or related equivalent experience preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in rental, sales, or marketing. Prior experience in the rental equipment industry preferred.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Computer skills to include Internet Explorer, Excel, Access, Word, Power Point
- Experience, knowledge of, or ability to learn Rental Software and Sales Link software
- Acceptable driving record
- Proven skills in written and verbal communications, planning, organizing and interpersonal relationship building.
- Ability to set and manage priorities.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work without supervision.
- Proven customer service skills, sales experience and professional telephone manner required.
- Thorough knowledge of the use, application and operation of heavy construction equipment preferred.
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).
