Job Purpose:
This role involves operating a company vehicle to transport parts between Fabick Cat branch locations and make scheduled deliveries along a designated route. The position follows a consistent schedule, working Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 AM to 9:30 AM CST. Drivers return home daily and cover a regular route within the St. Louis Metro area.
Responsibilities:

Accurately perform pick-up, delivery, and distribution of freight to Fabick Cat branches and designated drop box locations.
- Utilize scanning equipment to ensure precise tracking of all package pickups and deliveries.
- Review and manage daily route transport logs to confirm completion of all scheduled deliveries.
- Promptly report any missing or damaged packages to the appropriate personnel.
- Verify all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with staff at all Fabick branch locations.

Safely and professionally represent Fabick Cat while operating vehicles and interacting with internal and external contacts.

Report any vehicle malfunctions or issues to supervisors and mechanics.

Conduct routine vehicle maintenance, including monitoring tire pressure and refueling or replenishing oil and water as needed.

Perform pre-trip inspections to confirm that mechanical, safety, and emergency systems are functioning properly.

Maintain accurate records of driving hours, vehicle service, and repair history in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Safely maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, following crew signals and ensuring proper placement of special loading equipment.

Secure cargo using appropriate tools such as ropes, chains, binders, blocks, and covers to ensure safe transport.

Report any incidents involving vehicle defects, traffic violations, accidents, or damage in a timely manner.

Complete required accident reports as necessary.

Assist with loading and unloading of freight, including the operation of special loading-related equipment as needed.

Successfully complete all required safety and training programs.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years Truck driving experience required.
- Recent Forklift certification required.
- Candidate must have strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must be able to physically lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must have good oral & written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, bend and stoop to perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
