Finning Canada is seeking Journeypersons Field Heavy Equipment Technicians to join our amazing General Line team in Calgary on a 7 x 7 Shift Schedule. Field Heavy Duty Mechanics at Finning are responsible for supporting our customers by: troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance and diagnostics of a variety of Caterpillar engines and auxiliary equipment in a field environment.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

• Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs

• Interface with customers, products and sales support

• Working with the Supervisor on various tasks

• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements

• Maintain Finnings’ Customer Service Commitments, interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team

• Various related duties as required

Specific Skills & Experience

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (Red Seal preferred)

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician

• Dedication to safety

• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal

• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset

• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset

• Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset

• Experience with Lawson, SIS (Service Information System) and warranty systems considered assets

Note:

• Drivers’ Abstract will be required

• This position is a 7 x 7 continuous shift schedule

• Starting wage of $53.54 (probationary rate) - $55.51

• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement

• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
