Manager, Compensation & Strategy
Job Summary: The Manager, Compensation & Strategy develops and optimizes compensation strategies within the Total Rewards framework, ensuring competitive and equitable compensation practices. In addition to overseeing compensation programs, this role will manage the 401(k) program and strategic projects that align with organizational goals. These projects will drive an integrated Total Reward strategy in collaboration with HR leadership.
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.
Essential Functions:
• Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
• Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
• Develops and implements competitive compensation strategies, including salary structures, incentives, and equity compensation
• Leads Total Rewards projects related to optimization, recognition, and engagement integrated strategies
• Manages the 401(k) and deferred compensation program, ensuring plan design, compliance, and employee education
• Analyzes Total Rewards data and market trends, providing insights and recommendations to leadership
• Ensures all compensation programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including FLSA, EEOC, and other relevant labor laws
• Collaborates with key stakeholders in HR, Finance, and leadership to align Total Rewards strategies with the company’s broader business objectives
• Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of compensation principles, including salary structures, incentive programs, and equity compensation
• Ability to design and implement Total Rewards strategies aligned with business goals
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and market insights to drive decisions
• Ability to manage multiple projects within the Total Rewards framework
• Knowledge of compensation regulations and compliance standards (eg, FLSA, EEOC, IRS)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex compensation topics to non-experts
• Ability to lead and collaborate effectively across teams to achieve project success
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel for analysis of data
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to work independently
• Ability to work on multiple projects and interact effectively with employees and management
• Ability to identify complex problems and to review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience) required
• Six years or more of related experience required, 8 or more preferred
• Experience in leading projects related to Total Rewards initiatives, including compensation, benefits, recognition, and performance management required
• Professional certifications such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or similar preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel:
• Generally, no more than 10% travel, generally no more than twice a month

• This position involves extended periods in a stationary position
• Occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.

• This position frequently communicates with employees, vendors, and stakeholders; Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
• Occasionally moves or transports items weighing up to 10 lbs.
Work Environment:
• This job is generally performed in a professional office, in environmentally controlled conditions
• Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
