Estimator- HOLT Renewables
HOLT Renewables is searching for a full-time Estimator to support a growing pipeline of renewable projects, including solar, energy storage, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. HOLT Renewables is an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contractor with a focus on clean electricity infrastructure projects, including solar and energy storage. Required Competencies
- Competent in reading and quantifying units in Civil, Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Environmental, and Landscaping Construction drawings.
- Competent in estimating solar, energy storage, electric vehicle charging, and other projects as assigned.
- Capable of managing project estimates from inception to final customer proposal handoff.
- Assist with alternative value engineering estimates.
- Preparing work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
- Identifying material, labor, and schedule requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
- Computing costs by analyzing material, labor, and schedule requirements
- Resolving discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Maintaining an up-to-date cost database for equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractors
- Competent in understanding supply chain dynamics
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and material vendors
- Maintaining technical knowledge and proficiency by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications
- Working with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction operations in conducting thorough project post-mortems, including making continuous improvement changes to Company and position-specific standard operating procedures to avoid future issues
- Collaborating and communicating extensively with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Operations, as well as customers, architects, and engineers
- Traveling to Project sites to assess and analyze the feasibility of renewable integration
- Collaborating with the Project Sales team to consider customer specifications, aesthetic desires and identified customer pain points
- Collaborating with Engineering Division to consider Project engineering requirements, including state and local codes, industry standards, procurement, installation, budget, schedule, and long-term operation
- Establishing Project design goals and objectives with Sales and Engineering Divisions
- Pricing the Project to achieve Project goals and objectives, including a Project price that is within the Sales Division's budget objectives
- Interfacing, supporting, and collaborating with Engineering Division, Estimating, and Project Management departments
- Collaborating with Construction Operations Division during the Project's installation
- Maintaining knowledge and proficiency with various Estimating tools

Education:
- BS Construction Management (Preferred)
Experience:
- PV Cost Estimating: 3 years (Preferred)
- Commercial or Industrial Electrical Estimating
- General Commercial Construction estimating 3 years (Preferred)
- Procurement of solar equipment, materials, and services: 3 years (Preferred)
- Working knowledge of PVSyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD
- Experience with PVBid, Accubid, MS Excel, or similar estimating software
License/Certification:
- NABCEP Certification (Preferred)
- TDLR License (Preferred)
