Shop Machinist

Our Machinist is responsible for the custom repair and restoration of mechanical parts and components relating to machinery repair in the workshops of the Toromont Reman division.

In a typical day, YOU will:

• Demonstrate safe work and environmentally sound behaviours at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives


• Responsible for manufacturing hydraulic cylinders


• Custom repair and restoration of mechanical parts and components relating to machinery repair


• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace & performing basic maintenance functions


• Restore damaged steel and cast iron components by welding, line boring, disassembling and assembling of relative components


• Maintain an inventory of materials used for fabrication process and account to various projects based on usage

Must-haves for this role:

• A certificate of Qualification as a General Machinist


• A minimum of 2 to 5 years as a General Machinist in a custom or Tool Room environment with primary experience in machinery component repair and rebuild
