Position Overview:

As the world's largest Caterpillar dealer, we are looking for the BEST Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics – Field (Red Seal preferred) to work on a variety of equipment supporting our customer located at Red Chris Mine. The Tahltan Nation Development Corporation or TNDC is a large contractor providing site services to a number of sites within the Golden Triangle. In this role, you will support the maintenance, rebuild, repair and trouble shooting for a variety of Caterpillar Equipment including: 745 Rock Trucks, D8 and D10 dozers, 395 and 349 Excavators, and 16M3 Motor Graders, just to name a few

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

• Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment in a Field environment
• Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Specific Skills & Experience

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
• Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
• 5+ Years Off Road Mechanical Experience recommended
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Previous repair experience on the Caterpillar mining and general line product lines would be considered an asset

Notes:

• This is a site position, located at Red Chris Mine on a 14 x 14 continuous shift rotation
• Customer Camp Accommodations is provided
• Travel Allowance where applicable
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
• Additional conditions to gain Site Access may be required
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
