- Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance for on-highway trucks
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments
- ·Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision
- Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers on their repairs
- Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics
- General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments
- Knowledge of use of various on-highway trucks
- Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
- Valid Class A CDL or B CDL or the ability to obtain one
- Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with Class 8 trucks)
- Stable work history
- All makes and models of engine rebuilds
- Class A CDL
