Job Description
Peterson Power Systems has a need for a Project Estimator based at our San Leandro, CA location.
SUMMARY
The Project Estimator provides sales support to the Sales team. This position works closely with Sales Representatives to review customer needs, specifications, and requirements and develops quotes for Sales Representatives to present to customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Review plans, drawings and specifications to determine best product solution.
Develop customer quotes based on specification documents, employing value engineering methods to meet or exceed the intent of the specification.
Responsible for full cycle tracking of project work & communicating out to other teams involved.
Collaborate with Project Engineers and Sales Representatives to determine best course of action to deliver solutions that put “customers first”.
Research on-line Plan Centers to obtain specifications and active projects that include generators, transfer switches, and uninterruptable power supplies for the standby power market.
Evaluate sub-contractor and vendor quotes for accuracy and completion.
Provide updates to Sales Representatives on quotes going to customers assigned to them.
Routinely enter daily “activities” into work tracking systems as applicable; Provide a daily log of quote activity to Sales Managers and Sales Representatives.
Maintain and submit necessary paperwork and reports in a timely and complete manner, such as quotes and expense reports.
Research market to develop a contractor bidders list on each project to ensure all interested contractors receive a proposal.
Provide materials and literature to support promotional efforts; coordinate and participate in facility visits and trade shows; keep customers informed of new products and changes.
Seek out, identify, and promote cost improvements.
Maintain the Power Systems Industry Representative credential via Dealer Performance Center.
Operate company or personal vehicle as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Business Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other closely related field; and a minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license, with an acceptable driving record and have access to reliable transportation.
The pay range for this position is: $92,000.00 - $110,000.00 (Starting wage will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.)
