PM EPG Field Technician
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of test equipment, diagnostic procedures, and maintenance practices.
- Ability to diagnose problems, make repair decisions, and set up jobs independently.
- Skilled in inspecting machines, determining parts reusability, and developing accurate parts and material lists without supervision.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and industry safety best practices.
- Competence with service documentation, time entry, and computer-based reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with generator and diesel engine components, systems, and controls.
- Proven ability to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on power generation equipment.
- Experience working safely and effectively in field environments and extreme weather conditions.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance procedures and industry best practices.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Technical School Training (Power Generation, Diesel Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred)
Essential Job Functions
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on generator equipment, including load bank testing, fluid sampling, and comprehensive system inspections.
- Apply strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Work independently or collaboratively in both field and shop environments.
- Operate effectively in extreme weather conditions and challenging job site environments.
- Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and time entries.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and Stowers Machinery standards.

Physical & Mental Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment or parts up to 50 lbs (or heavier with assistance).
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and around moving machinery.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Capable of working outdoors in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Strong hand‑eye coordination, manual dexterity, and fine motor skills.
- Ability to maintain focus, attention to detail, and composure in fast-paced or high-stress environments.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining situational awareness at all times.
- Mental resilience and adaptability to handle unexpected challenges or urgent service calls.
Work Environment
- Primarily field-based work with additional shop responsibilities as needed.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, weather conditions, noise, dust, fumes, and vibration.
- Regular interaction with customers, vendors, and team members in both independent and collaborative settings.
- Work may involve confined spaces, heights, and physically demanding tasks.
- PPE required at all times, with strict adherence to Stowers safety protocols.
- Occasional overtime, weekend, or on-call work may be required to meet customer and operational needs.
