JOB SUMMARY: 
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside Ohio Peterbilt’s veteran sales team.
 
The Sales Intern will gain significant knowledge supporting sales operations serving our Northwest Ohio region and its surrounding areas. The role includes working with sales reps/managers to learn and understand the administration of a multi-million-dollar sales operation. This would entail learning how to spec a truck using SmartSpec software, understanding all the various aspects of SmartSpec, and learning the trucking industry’s Federal and state laws. The Sales Intern role includes the exciting opportunity to attend sales presentations and field-based client engagement.
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Sales, with a minimum of one year completed. 
  • Overall GPA requirement of 3.0 or higher. 
  • Prior experience in a professional setting. 
  • A letter of recommendation from an instructor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). 
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy. 
  • Passion for sales. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Learn and demonstrate knowledge of basic truck products, including models, features, their benefits, and how to pitch them. 
  • Receive and execute phone calls from interested callers. 
  • Assist the sales team in communications and record entry. 
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the marketing department as needed. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills gained through a culminating role-play exercise presentation during the final week of the internship.  
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, move occasionally, and sit for an extended period throughout their scheduled working time. The employee will be required to operate office equipment that requires repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, including using a computer keyboard. Occasionally, the employee may be required to lift, push, carry, move, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight, and regular verbal communication to exchange information is necessary. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings, and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
