Job Description:
- Deliver in-person and virtual OHS training courses at multiple Finning Canada facilities, ensuring that all employees receive the necessary knowledge and skills to maintain a safe working environment.
- Evaluate learners through theory and practical skills assessments to ensure they have a thorough understanding of health and safety protocols and can apply them effectively in their daily tasks.
- Develop and deliver effective training using hands-on materials, training aids, and documents to engage learners and enhance their understanding of safety practices.
- Coordinate training logistics, including the movement of training aids and confirmation of classroom space at other branches, to ensure smooth and efficient training sessions.
- Assist service departments with health and safety requirements, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Act as a role model for health and safety in the workplace, demonstrating best practices and encouraging a culture of safety among all employees.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for course content development, collaborating with the Learning and Development Team to create or modify training programs that meet the needs of the organization.
- Collaborate with EHS team and facilities to address safety concerns, working together to identify and resolve issues that may impact the safety and well-being of employees.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years of practical related experience.
- Certified Instructor (Energy Safety Canada).
- OSSA certified Arial Work Platform, Fall Protection, Crane & Rigging training.
- Strong understanding of relevant safety laws and legislation.
- Knowledge of Inclusion and Diversity in the workplace.
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and independent problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional public speaking and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, adapting to specific audiences.
- Flexibility and the ability to travel are essential.
- Standard First Aid & CPR/AED certification is an asset.

- This position will be based out of Edmonton.
- Permanent, full-time role.
- 5 x 2, Monday – Friday shift.
