Join Finning as a Health & Safety Trainer and play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive training programs across multiple facilities. You'll be responsible for hazard assessment, energy isolation, fall protection, crane & rigging, forklift operation, and more. Job Description:

• Deliver in-person and virtual OHS training courses at multiple Finning Canada facilities, ensuring that all employees receive the necessary knowledge and skills to maintain a safe working environment.
• Evaluate learners through theory and practical skills assessments to ensure they have a thorough understanding of health and safety protocols and can apply them effectively in their daily tasks.
• Develop and deliver effective training using hands-on materials, training aids, and documents to engage learners and enhance their understanding of safety practices.
• Coordinate training logistics, including the movement of training aids and confirmation of classroom space at other branches, to ensure smooth and efficient training sessions.
• Assist service departments with health and safety requirements, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Act as a role model for health and safety in the workplace, demonstrating best practices and encouraging a culture of safety among all employees.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for course content development, collaborating with the Learning and Development Team to create or modify training programs that meet the needs of the organization.
• Collaborate with EHS team and facilities to address safety concerns, working together to identify and resolve issues that may impact the safety and well-being of employees.

Qualifications:

• 5 to 10 years of practical related experience.
• Certified Instructor (Energy Safety Canada).
• OSSA certified Arial Work Platform, Fall Protection, Crane & Rigging training.
• Strong understanding of relevant safety laws and legislation.
• Knowledge of Inclusion and Diversity in the workplace.
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and independent problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional public speaking and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, adapting to specific audiences.
• Flexibility and the ability to travel are essential.
• Standard First Aid & CPR/AED certification is an asset.

• This position will be based out of Edmonton.
• Permanent, full-time role.
• 5 x 2, Monday – Friday shift.
