Railcar Mover Field Technician / Mechanic
- Perform repair and preventive maintenance on railcar moving equipment and evaluating for other preventative maintenance items to address with the customer.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments
- Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
- Some troubleshooting on equipment may occasionally be required
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers on their repairs
- Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
- Basic mechanical knowledge including mechanical, electrical and hydraulics
- General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments
- Understand crane hoist and rigging equipment (preferred)
- Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
- Ability to obtain a Class A CDL
- Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with railcar movers)
- Stable work history
- Shuttlewagon experience is a plus
- Valid Class A CDL
