Fabricator 1 - HOLT Industrial Systems
Job Summary: The Fabricator I supports the Skid and Packaging Department at Holt Industrial Systems by performing general fabrication tasks related to the construction of custom Instrument Air Packages. This role involves interpreting GA (General Arrangement) drawings, measuring and fitting pipe, welding structural components, and assembling equipment on skids and within containers. The Fabricator I ensures that all work meets quality, safety, and customer specifications while contributing to the successful delivery of engineered systems.

Essential Functions:
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
- Interpret and follow GA drawings to assist in setting up and assembling Instrument Air Packages
- Perform welding on equipment and structural bases such as skids and containers
- Measure, cut, thread, and fit pipe according to project specifications
- Cut structural materials using stationary band saws, torches, and other fabrication tools
- Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with engineering and customer requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to mitigate safety hazards
- Collaborates with fabrication shop personnel to complete various project tasks as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
- Communicate process deviations or improvement opportunities to supervisors
- Complete required documentation and perform other duties as assigned
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in general fabrication, welding, and pipe fitting techniques
- Ability to read and interpret GA drawings and technical documents
- Skilled in the use of fabrication tools such as MIG welding machines, band saws, oxy/acetylene torches, hand grinders, and threading machines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with scheduling systems
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fabrication, welding, and pipe fitting required
- Welding certifications preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Travel:
- May be required for employee training
- Valid Driver’s license required
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
- Manual dexterity and stamina required for operating tools and machinery
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Visual and auditory acuity to detect issues and follow instructions
Work Environment:
- Use of PPE required at all times
- Exposure to noise, welding flashes, dust, and moving machinery
- Work may involve hot, cold, or cramped conditions
- This position is located in a non-climate-controlled shop and may involve exposure to outdoor temperatures and weather conditions
