In this role, you will provide full time health and safety support to on-shift front line employees and Production Management. Job Description:
- Administer and adhere to efficient and timely reporting of safety incidents and accident investigation
- Attends and coaches Team Leaders on daily safety talks at toolboxes
- Interacts and coaches employees daily on safe work practices, risk awareness and tolerance and hazard identification
- Positively reinforces OEM’s safety culture through significant on-floor interaction and coaching
- Conduct daily safety walkthrough inspections for designated areas of responsibility to help identify hazards and correct them before they cause incidents
- Provide advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees with safety initiatives and necessary changes
- Assist EH&S Advisor, Production Managers and employees with incident and near miss investigations
- Assists to develop and review safe work practices and procedures
- Promotes Positive Action Recognition
- Responds to emergency situations as necessary
- Be the management representative on-shift
- Monitor and understand attendance for purposes of evacuation
- Transport injured employees to medical treatment
- Act as first contact advanced first aider on-site
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3 years’ experience working in construction, manufacturing, or related industries, including experience in a safety related role
- High proficiency in business applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) and comfortable navigating in EHS data management systems. Takes initiative, within a defined process; willing to act, not fearful of acting with minimum of planning (when warranted)
- Able to gain customer’s respect and trust
- Has knowledge of and able to provide advice to operations on OEM’s EH&S Program
- Possesses continuous improvement approach
- Ability to develop and enhance Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents based on existing materials
- Understands and competently applies site systems/processes and is able to identify steps to improve
- Able to build strong relationships within EH&S and operations teams and use reasonable judgment in seeing both sides)
- Can comfortably handle risk/uncertainty and able to make timely self-directed decisions under tight timelines and pressure
- Always searches for understanding and tries to find new solutions; learns from both successes and failures
- Demonstrates clear understanding of various levels of communication
- Strong partnering, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
- Collaborative, responsive and service-oriented approach, and proven ability to immediately establish credibility and able to influence change.
- Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency.
Note:
- This position is based at our OEM Remanufacturing facility and will be on a rotational shift (Days, Afternoons, Weekends)
- Monday - Thursday day shift 5:00 am - 3:30 pm
- Monday - Thursday afternoon shift 4:00 pm - 2:30 am
- Friday - Sunday weekend shift 6:00 am - 6:30 pm
- Occasional overtime may be available, but not a requirement
- Must complete acceptable Criminal Record & Background Check, and successfully pass pre-employment Fitness-for-Duty testing
