Position Overview:

The Cat Rental Store (Finning Canada) is seeking a Driver for our TCRS branch in Calgary. As a Driver, you will be responsible for the hauling, delivery and retrieval of assorted Caterpillar rental equipment.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Pickup and delivery of equipment
  • Loading and unloading company trucks
  • Various wash bay and yard duties
  • Keeping records updated electronically via company-specific Driver Log App on phone
  • Observe safety rules and regulations at TCRS customer sites and facilities

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Having knowledge of load securement and knowledge of operating various types of equipment is a definite asset
  • Must be capable of repeated lifting/pushing required to load and unload smaller rental items
  • Must have a proven track record of successfully operating a large truck with trailer
  • Must be competent on basic computer programs including Email and Word
  • Have the ability to learn our basic company software program and driving log app

NOTE:

  • Class 1 or Class 3 preferred
  • Ability to maneuver transport truck in challenging terrain and potential inclement weather
  • Ensure equipment is safe for transport according to safety regulations (blocks, strapping, chaining etc)
  • Experience with heavy equipment or a similar industry would be considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Due to physical nature of the work, a requirement of the job is to be considered fit for work in the following environment: fast-paced, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, ability to distinguish between colors, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Team player with a keen attention to detail
