Internship Summary

As a Human Resources Intern at Stowers, you will support a range of HR activities with a focus on employee engagement, personnel file management, orientation, and process improvement. You will also work across HR specialties including employee relations, payroll, benefits, and recruitment. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the full scope of HR while supporting strategic projects that reflect Stowers' core values and EVP.

Essential Responsibilities

  • - Support employee engagement initiatives such as events, surveys, and recognition efforts.
  • - Maintain and audit physical and electronic personnel files in compliance with internal standards.
  • - Assist in HR compliance efforts, internal audits, and personnel data accuracy.
  • - Help coordinate new hire orientation sessions and support onboarding logistics across departments (IT, Payroll, Recruitment, etc.).
  • - Provide general administrative HR support, including follow-up emails, scheduling, and document preparation.
  • - Track performance review follow-ups and assist with new hire evaluation scheduling.
  • - Monitor HR inboxes and help compile metrics related to inquiry topics and resolution time.
  • - Shadow HR team members across disciplines to understand full-cycle HR operations.
  • - Assist in improving and documenting HR workflows and SOPs.
  • - Contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing Stowers' EVP.

Minimum Qualifications

  • - Junior, Senior, or recent graduate (within the past 12 months) pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • - GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • - Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • - Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • - Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • - Comfortable learning HR software or document management systems.
  • - Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • - Interest in understanding workplace culture, organizational development, and employee experience.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • - Primarily office-based, safe and secure work environment.
  • - Role requires speaking, listening, sitting, and light use of computer and telephone equipment.
