Director of Fleet Management- Texas First Rentals
Job Summary: The Director, Fleet Management is responsible for successful management of the Fleet Department with a focus on maximizing return on investment of the company’s assets, through quick and efficient fleet procurement and effective fleet management. The incumbent is responsible for establishing goals, supervising, training, and evaluating fleet, service, and product support employees to ensure that work is performed in support of company’s goals.

Essential Functions:
• Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
• Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
• Oversees, organizes, directs, and coordinates the Fleet, Connected Assets, and related departments
• Anticipates business needs and plan accordingly to ensure that resources are utilized in the most efficient manner
• Leads in the identification, evaluation, engagement/negotiation process and ongoing management of key supply partners
• Reduces costs, improves efficiencies, and secures favorable commercial terms while cultivating long term, mutually beneficial relationships with Texas First’s preferred suppliers
• Collaborates with Operations, Fleet, Sales, IT, Marketing, and Finance functions to define supplier products, resources, and development schedules required by other internal support groups
• Mentor, coaches, and challenges members of the field operations to efficiently manage the complete equipment lifecycle
• Presents materials in effective, concise oral and written form to Executives related to findings, opportunities and progress on projects that directly impact the company’s profit and loss statement
• Performs industry benchmarking and total cost of ownership analysis to identify continuous cost & process improvements
• Collaborates with Operations, Fleet, and Finance to build a unified direction for operational and capital expenditures
• Creates and manages monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
• Oversees comprehensive data management for equipment throughout its lifecycle
• Leads the strategic direction for our connected assets driving a balance of technical cutting edge and financial expense based on customer requirements for revenue generation
• Proficient with rental industry specific programs such as but not limited to RentalMan, Rouse, SmartEquip, and others as needed.
• Establish relationships within multiple divisions throughout the organization to become an integral member of many cross-functional teams (Operations, Fleet, IT, Marketing, etc.) within the business
• Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of the construction capital equipment marketplace, either from an equipment fleet management or manufacturer perspective
• Strong knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint - Excellent group presentation skills
• Strong data analysis and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), negotiation and influencing skills; comfortable in dealing with all levels of an organization
• Ability to possess a strategic view of the total supply chain, which encompasses capital equipment and lifecycle management
• Demonstrated leadership in internal and external functions, with proven results in total cost of ownership reduction and process efficiency improvement
• Ability to manage and analyze existing contracts and identify spend reduction, spend leveraging and other opportunities to maximize equipment utility
• Ability to articulate and frame issues in a clear and concise manner
• Strong analytical capabilities necessary to assess the short and long term requirements and needs of the business
• Planning and organizing skills
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring of a team of members who may or may not report to this position within the organization (i.e., matrix management)
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills to apply logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, approaches, and prevention to problems
• Attention to detail and ability to be thorough throughout the completion of work tasks

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or related field equivalent; relevant experience in same or similar type functional area may substitute for educational requirement
• CEM, CEFM EMS, or CPM accreditation preferred
• Ten years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required
• Experience in construction equipment rental industry required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel:
• Up to 40% and overnight travel maybe expected
• Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
• This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
• This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
• Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Work Environment:
• This job is generally performed in a professional office environment
• Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
• Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
