JOB SUMMARY
The Energy Solutions Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) & Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is
responsible for overseeing all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality Assurance (QA)
functions across Energy Solutions’ power generation construction projects and internal processes. This
role ensures strict compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and quality standards
throughout the construction lifecycle—from upfront permitting and engineering, to site preparation and
construction and then followed by testing and commissioning. The EHS & QA Manager plays a critical
leadership role in minimizing risks, enhancing site safety culture, managing the quality assurance
program and ensuring that all deliverables meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The EHS & QA Manager will work closely with the Energy Solutions EPC, Commissioning, Service and
Operations teams on all projects upfront to understand project timelines, designs and requirements. The
EHS & QA Manager will have focus on the key responsibilities:
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS):
• Develop, assist and acquire project site emissions permits as required.
• Develop and implement project-specific HSE plans in line with Energy Solutions and regulatory
standards.
• Conduct site audits, inspections, job hazard analyses, and risk assessments.
• Enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, DEQ, local environmental regulations, federal
environmental regulations and project-specific safety standards.
• Main point of contact with contractors, subcontractors, and local authorities on EHS matters.
• Lead incident investigations, reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Manage and Organize and deliver training on JHA process to ensure workforce competency
and engagement.
• Oversee and support project site safety and LOTO personnel.
Quality Assurance (QA):
• Continue to develop and maintain the Quality Assurance Manual (QAM) in accordance with all
contract requirements, codes, and standards.
• Monitor engineering and construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications,
drawings, and QA procedures.
• Oversee and support project site QA/QC teams in performing inspections, material verification,
and test witnessing.
• Review and approve Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality
documentation.
• Manage NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), conduct root cause analysis, and implement
corrective actions.
• Ensure all quality documentation and records (e.g., weld maps, test reports) are accurate and
audit-ready.
Leadership & Coordination:
• Serve as a central point of contact for all EHS and QA matters on construction sites.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering, commissioning, procurement, and
subcontractor teams.
• Ensure that EHS and QA performance is tracked and reported through KPIs, dashboards, and
weekly/monthly reports.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and quality-first mindset throughout all project phases.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
• The EHS & QA Manager will professionally represent the company in appearance, positive
attitude and work habits.
• Cooperate with and support others in the company, Caterpillar, subcontractors and preferred
suppliers.
• Perform safe and responsible operation of company vehicles.
• Prompt completion of required paperwork.
• Remain current on new governmental regulations, Caterpillar and power generation products and
updates, have knowledge of and attend approved regulatory conferences, Caterpillar and power
generation product training and industry related trade shows and seminars.
• Work closely with all other members of the Energy Solutions Engineering, Procurement and
Construction team as well as the Service, Commissioning and Operations teams.
• The SCEM will frequently use Caterpillar and BOP product handbooks, literature and catalogs.
The PC, telephone, fax and other business tools will be used on a daily basis.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY
• A knowledge of Safety, Compliance and Quality control within a medium to large organization with
an understanding of OSHA, ISO, NEBOSH IGC, EPA and DEQ certifications.
• Knowledge of Power Generation and construction is preferred.
• A demonstrated ability to apply proper selling, negotiation and communication skills is required.
• Knowledge of equipment operation, application, selection, acquisition, maintenance, repair and
disposal is preferred.
• The EHS & QA Manager should also possess following skills/knowledge:

Experience:
• College graduate (Bachelor’s degree) is required. Focus in business management,
engineering, construction management or related field is preferred. May substitute
relevant professional work experience, training and education for the required education
and experience.
• At least five years’ experience in environmental, health and safety and/or quality
assurance management.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
• Normal hours are 8am to 5pm with additional hours and weekends as needed.
• Primarily, this job involves office activities, but the responsibilities of this position will require visits
to Customer facilities, Energy Solutions locations, customer offices and job sites.
• Physical activities include normal office work, which includes sitting four to eight hours per day,
using hands for fine manipulation, walking and/or standing for zero to ten hours per day, walking
and climbing throughout project sites, capability to see, hear and inspect work that is being
completed onsite.
• Must be able to climb up and on equipment to operate, inspect/evaluate the machine.
• Being able to see, hear and feel machine condition indicators is necessary.
• Some overnight travel is required (either car or airplane) to inspect and analyze project sites,
attend various trade shows, meetings and regulatory conferences.
