JOB SUMMARY: 

Sell new and used Caterpillar construction equipment and related products & services.
Manage time & territory effectively, call planning & execution, efficient process to find & secure business, and satisfy account coverage objectives.  Advise and consult customers, demonstrating product, application, and general business knowledge to build confidence, trust, and respect. Negotiate business transactions that meet the needs of both the company and the customer. Use Sales Link efficiently and effectively for activities, opportunities, leads, DTRs, and account maintenance. Provide quality and timely transaction documents, worksheets, quotes, contracts, financial papers, warranties, delivery records, and account credits. Generate productive interactions, demonstrate willingness and ability to observe and adapt to others’ behavioral/work style. Maintain effective and constructive relationships with factory representatives to generate mutually beneficial results, demonstrating a partnership mindset. Utilize professional sales skills to secure appropriate transaction premiums, ID & overcome objections – sell features/benefits – satisfy customer needs. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Five plus years of construction equipment industry experience. is required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Must have a strong sales aptitude, be sales-oriented, possess negotiating skills, and have a strong customer service orientation. 
  • Excellent computer, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as organizational, detail-oriented, and multitasking abilities, are required.
  • Must be a self-starter, possess a high energy level, and be able to learn technical materials.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
