Strategic Account Manager - Data Centers
Description
- Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities by consulting with potential customers and prime power solution providers serving the data center industry in Ohio.
- Build Strategic Partnerships: Develop a targeted data center growth strategy and proactively establish relationships with data center end-users and project developers to drive growth.
- Project Economics: Conduct techno-economic financial analysis for advanced energy system investments, analyzing make vs. buy power decisions.
- Technical Proficiency: Provide technical assistance for customers regarding product specifications and applications that provide accurate solutions tailored to their needs
- Collaboration: Builds strong relationships with Caterpillar teams, contractors, and suppliers to support data center growth goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred
- 5-10 years of proven power generation business development or sales experience in electric power applications, power generation, or related electrical industry experience. Caterpillar product experience preferred.
- General understanding of gas and reciprocating engines, generators, switchgear, and automatic transfer switches that are used in advanced energy systems, including emissions standards and electrical codes.
- Proficiency in reading written engineering specifications and electrical one-line system diagrams is required. Strong aptitude in mechanical, power systems, renewable applications, and electrical engineering concepts preferred.
- Possesses strong consultative selling and prospecting skills. Can identify and pursue new business opportunities with customers not currently associated with our dealership.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and responsiveness
- The ideal candidates possess expertise in distributed generation and advanced energy systems applications, including technologies such as microgrids, combined heat & power (CHP), battery storage, gas turbines, and gas reciprocating engines, as well as familiarity with emissions regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are highly valued.
- Attend customer meetings and industry events as needed. Up to 25% business travel may be required. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
