Electrical Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Partner with sales teams to review customer requirements and generate technical proposals
- Provide end‑to‑end engineering support for generator installations—site assessments, electrical evaluations, system layout, and integration with existing infrastructure
- Recommend equipment (ATS, paralleling gear, switchgear) that meets project specifications
- Design electrical systems, components, and equipment based on project requirements
- Create schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
- Specify materials, components, and electrical equipment
- Assist in planning and executing electrical engineering projects
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and testing
- Work closely with the electric power sales team, project management, and our service teams
- Communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, and consulting engineers
- Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations as needed
- Build and strengthen relationships with key clients and vendors in collaboration with other Ziegler sales representatives
- Works with clients to understand their technical challenges and suggest solutions or improvements
- Learn about CAT products, allied products and comparisons against competitive products in order to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent experience) – Preferably in an Engineering discipline
- 2+ years of electrical engineering experience
- PE certification preferred
- Strong understanding of distributed generation systems, switchgear, controls schemes, and electrical design principles
- Proficiency with engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, MATLAB, or similar)
- Knowledge of electrical codes and industry standards
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Personal Attributes: Customer Focus, Problem Solving, Attention to Detail, Sociability, Achievement Orientation, forward thinking mindset and strong mechanical aptitude
- Electric Power, Electrician, Generator, or Reciprocating Engine experience desired
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record
Travel:
- Up to 25% over night travel
