Shop Helper

Ziegler CAT has an opening for a full-time Shop Helper to support our shops. This person is responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly shop. In addition, this person performs duties, such as washing and cleaning of materials, and supports the disassembly processes. Cleaning work area, machines, and tools. They also assist with carting up and staging engines. We are looking for a dedicated employee with a strong work ethic and excellent organizational and communication skills to help support our growth.

Responsibilities:

• Transfers tools, components, parts, equipment and supplies to and from work stations and other areas

• Assists with shop and facility clean up and maintenance

• Ships and receives components on nightly shuttle trucks.

• Provides assistance to other departments as requested

• Promptly greets and assist customers in the yard and loading bay

• Safely loads and unloads customer trucks and pick-ups

• Maintains a clean and orderly loading bay area at all times

• Cleans and maintains component washers

• Cleans equipment using proper equipment

• Cleans and maintains grounds, parking lots, and other areas, as assigned

• Cleans and maintains large steam room and/or wash bay

• Works in a cooperative manner with team and superiors

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• 2+ years experience required in shop or yard, operating equipment and forklifts

• Dependable, self-starter, and hard-working

• Good communication and customer service skills

• Team-player and willing to help wherever needed

• Maintains safe and organized work area

• Able to operate required equipment safely (examples include forklift, sprayers, equipment)

• This role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement
