Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the Journeyman Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar equipment. Successful candidate must have General Line equipment experience and a passion for problem-solving.

This position is based out of our Calgary General Line facility and will be on a 7x7 continuous shift.

Job Description:

• Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
• Performing machine rebuilds, hydraulic clean outs
• Some customer repair an smaller machines (skidsteers, telehandlers)
• Interface with customers, products and sales support
• Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
• Various related duties as required

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
• Minimum 5 years experience as an HET focused on general line equipment
• Electrical and Hydraulic troubleshooting experience
• Experience with Lawson, SIS (Service Information System) and warranty systems considered assets
• Dedication to safety
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line (980/988/Motor Graders/Dozers/973/Scraper Rebuilds)

Assets

• Cat Inspect and CAT ET proficiency
• Leadhand and/or job lead experience
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing
• Communication skills: with customers, service team and other branch personnel
