- Maintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment while painting surfaces and using appropriate methods to include automotive grade finishes
- Scrape, sandpaper, prime or seal surfaces prior to painting, set-up and operate machines to paint or coat products.
- Clean and maintain coating and painting machines and measure thickness and quality of coating, using micrometer
- Examine and test solutions, paints, products, and work pieces to ensure specifications are met while Operating auxiliary machines or equipment used in the coating or painting process.
- Weigh or measure chemicals, coatings or paints and adds to machine
- Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
- Ability to perform basic and more complicated mathematic fundamentals – add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Able to compute rates, ratios and percentages to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to wear proper PPE, including respirator and paint suit
- Ability to solve practical problems and offer innovative solutions to unique problems as well as interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
- Familiarity operating forklift, overhead crane and rigging, painting equipment including paint gun, basic hand tools, sanders and pneumatic tools
- Stable work history
- Minimum one-year of experience as a skilled painter
