Toromont Remanufacturing is looking for a Process Engineering Specialist to join our team in Bradford, ON! This role will drive automation and facility performance, program robotic systems, maintain building automation, and develop technical documentation. This role will also initiate continuous improvement initiatives, enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance, and provide technical support to optimize shop operations and equipment reliability.

Compensation

$69,520.00 to $86,901.00

The listed base salary is just one component of our total rewards package, and performance-based or discretionary bonuses may be available.

In a typical day, YOU will:

  • Create and maintain process maps, procedures, technical specifications, and ensure compliance. Analyze operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements and support contamination control efforts through documentation and audit preparation.
  • Develop, test, and troubleshoot robot programs for automated production tasks. Rapidly prototype tooling and fixturing to support automation, improve safety and turnaround time. Assist with ECM programming and provide technical guidance to production teams.
  • Monitor and adjust parameters to ensure uptime and operational reliability, coordinate with facilities and contractors for shop maintenance and equipment servicing and assess equipment condition and recommend repairs or replacement based on condition and needs.
  • Perform root cause analysis of failures, collect and analyze quality and process metrics to identify trends and corrective actions. Support contamination control audits and adhere to local regulations.
  • Recommend continuous improvement (CI) initiatives using appropriate tools and methodology, research and select specialty tooling to improve various processes, and conduct audits and support operations through technical troubleshooting.

Key Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 3 to 6 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, including Mechanical, Mechatronics, and/or Electrical studies
  • P.Eng Professional designation required
  • Tooling, equipment repair, safety implementation, floor plan layouts
  • Audit recommendations and support
  • Technical expertise guidance and background
  • Mechanical Engineering knowledge
  • Robotic programming experience
  • Hydraulics, powertrain, engine and various other heavy equipment or automotive systems knowledge
  • Root cause analysis and reliability engineering experience
  • Project management experience
