Remanufacturing Engineer
The Remanufacturing Application Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing engineering solutions for remanufactured heavy equipment components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and drivetrains. This role ensures product reliability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with OEM standards while driving continuous improvement in remanufacturing processes.

In a typical day, YOU will:
- Assess worn or failed heavy equipment components for remanufacturing feasibility.
- Develop repair specifications, machining tolerances, and material requirements for powertrain and hydraulic systems.
- Design and validate remanufacturing processes for large-scale components (e.g., engine blocks, cylinder heads, gear assemblies).
- Collaborate with production teams to implement tooling, fixtures, and process improvements for high-volume reman operations.
- Ensure adherence to OEM specifications and industry standards for remanufactured heavy equipment parts.
- Conduct root cause analysis on component failures and implement corrective actions.
- Manage engineering projects from concept through production launch.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process efficiency in remanufacturing.
- Support sustainability initiatives by maximizing component reuse and reducing environmental impact.
Must-haves for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3+ years in manufacturing or heavy equipment engineering (construction, mining, or industrial machinery).
- Strong knowledge of machining, welding, and material science for large components.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
