Position Overview:

Finning – The Cat Rental Store is seeking a Shipper Receiver to support our Trench Shoring division in Edmonton. The Shipper Receiver is responsible for all movement of trench shoring equipment in and out of the branch, including inspection of returned rental equipment and accurately picking new customer orders.

Job Description:

  • Prepares and oversees the loading and unloading of orders and goods, completes proper documentation as per guidelines

  • Inspection of equipment, maintain inventory levels of parts, supplies, materials and communicate shortages or discrepancies

  • Maintains computerized record-keeping system

  • Operating a forklift or other equipment to unload equipment and supplies

  • Performs general housekeeping in warehouse and yard

  • Other related duties as assigned

  • Additional tasks and support at our general line location may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum six months of operating experience of rough terrain forklift, counterbalance forklift, Large forklift (>30,000 Lbs.) and/or operating construction equipment

  • Solid understanding of rental/shoring equipment and possess sufficient mechanical skills to perform and/or recommend minor equipment repairs

  • Strong organizational skills, with good attention to detail

  • Committed to a safe work environment, able to work with minimal supervision  

  • Due to physical nature of the work, a requirement of the job is to be considered fit for work.

  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
