Finning – The Cat Rental Store is seeking Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our team in Surrey. You will be responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of rental equipment including construction tools, small engine equipment (compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment (e.g. Mini excavators and skid steers); knowledge of diesel generators 8 KW to 200 KW is beneficial.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

  • Troubleshoot, maintenance and repair tasks on product line ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment in a field environment

  • Interfaces with customers in the field on service calls

  • Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily

  • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)

  • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team

  • Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Specific Skills & Experience

  • Interprovincial Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification is beneficial

  • Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract

  • Good understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems

  • Thorough knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine electronic management systems

  • Safety conscious team player

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail

  • Must possess the technical knowledge to perform service tasks on our product line ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment (e.g. Mini excavators and skid steers,) aerial work platform equipment as well as knowledge of diesel generators 8 KW to 200 KW
