Job Description
Peterson Power Systems has a need for a Mission Critical Sales Manager based at our Hillsboro, OR location.
SUMMARY
The Mission Critical Sales Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Peterson Power Systems’ largest and most complex customers in order to increase revenue. This position also assesses existing, new, and potential Mission Critical customers’ needs, pursues relationships with potential new customers, seeks new business opportunities with existing customers, and develops innovative sales strategies to meet all customer needs. Other responsibilities include leading Peterson’s Mission Critical Account Managers, Sales Representatives, and other Sales department personnel (henceforth referred to as Sales Staff) and maintaining detailed knowledge of products and services offered to ensure customer needs are consistently met.

Develop and deepen business relationships with Mission Critical accounts’ key contacts, Caterpillar (CAT) representatives, third party vendors, and other stakeholders.
Analyze the market opportunity in the Mission Critical space and lead the development of business plans to increase Peterson Power’s market share and profitability.
Develop the Mission Critical sales strategy, proposals, budgets, pricing, delivery promises, and commercial terms and conditions within established guidelines.
Lead the execution of sales strategies and tactics to meet Mission Critical accounts’ ever-changing needs and strengthen customer loyalty and satisfaction.
Manage and develop an inventory/pipelining plan to satisfy customers’ rapid delivery requirements.
Lead and direct the Sales Staff in marketing and sales efforts and negotiations with all stakeholders including planners, construction managers, engineers, contractors, commissioning agents, quality control staff, buyers, senior management teams, and sustainability leaders.
Negotiate payment terms and contract negotiation discussions in collaboration with Peterson’s Contract Review and Credit departments.
Ensure proposals made by the Mission Critical Sales team are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
Work closely with the Mission Critical General Sales Manager, Project Management teams, Marketing department, and Engineering Manager to ensure Peterson is positioning itself to meet current and future customer needs.
Work with and support the General Sales Manager Mission Critical and Project Management teams to expand the suite of goods and services provided by Peterson Power Systems.
Measure customer satisfaction and create action plans to improve satisfaction based on data.
Support and collaborate with Peterson's Sales Representatives, contractors, outside engineering firms, end user customers, Project Management teams, Project Engineering teams, and other departments to meet customer needs.
Work closely with CAT Global Account Sales Representatives to ensure seamless support of our customers whom CAT calls on directly.
Support marketing activities by participating in trade organization and attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
Travel up to 30% of the time to meet with stakeholders and perform other essential job functions within and outside of Peterson’s territory; operate personal vehicle as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other closely related field; and a minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience selling diesel engines, rotating machinery, or electric power distribution systems; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
