Position Summary

The Rental Operations Intern supports branch operations by assisting with customer interactions, rental transactions, and equipment coordination. This role provides hands-on exposure to daily operations including sales support, logistics coordination, and customer service while contributing to overall branch performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with customer interactions and inbound calls
  • Support rental quotes, contracts, and transactions
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries and pickups
  • Maintain rental records and equipment availability data
  • Assist with inventory tracking and cycle counts
  • Collaborate with shop and operations teams
  • Maintain organized and clean work areas
  • Support sales team and customer needs
  • Respond to customer inquiries
  • Assist with dispatching and routing logistics
  • Complete administrative support tasks

Program Structure

  • 8–12 week duration (aligned with academic program)
  • Supervised by Branch Manager
  • Regular performance check-ins

Education and Experience: 

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program or pursuing relevant professional experience
  • Interest in business operations, customer service, or a related field
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Travel:

  • No travel is expected for this position

 Physical Requirements:

  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, frequent movement inside in a warehouse environment
  • This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • Frequently moves product or equipment weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladders or stairs
  • Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work

Work Environment:

  • This job is generally performed in a warehouse environment; in environmentally controlled conditions, operating a computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion
  • Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
  • Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
