What You Will Be Doing:

As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing, preparing, and submitting tax related documentation. You will also assist with providing guidance on financial and tax related matters.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist with preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns.
  • Review customer transactions generated by ERP System which will require monthly oversight through the nontax report.
  • Develop ad-hoc reports using MS Excel.
  • Assist in on-boarding process for new sales tax compliance, including set-up of returns software and internal technology tools to manage process.
  • Respond to sales tax and taxability questions from operations.
  • Provide support for indirect tax audits and/or notices. 
  • Reconcile sales tax data including general ledger accounts.
  • Ensuring compliance for business license and tax registration.  This includes completing licensing applications (new and renewal) and compiling the necessary financial data required to suppor the application. 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.
  • Additional duties as assigned by manager.

 

Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position you should have a thorough knowledge of sales and use tax and have strong relational and system skills. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting or a relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a tax accountant or similar role.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • Thorough knowledge of sales and use tax.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interaction.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in MS Excel.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • CPA preferred
