Salary Range $19.00 - $21.98 Per Hour.


JOB SUMMARY:
Clean machines, parts, and equipment. Prepare and mask any components and machines for sand blasting. Use sandblasting equipment to clean machines and components while utilizing safe practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Operate high-pressure water hose and sand blasting equipment. Operate steam cleaner and chemical cleaning tanks.
• Clean machines, parts, and equipment following department guidelines and procedures.
• Provide quality-cleaning service to shops.
• Perform work within set guideline hours.
• Repair and maintain equipment and tools in the work area.
• Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interpret and follow oral and written instructions.
• Submit necessary reports, records, and data; maintain sand blast log.
• Cross train in all areas of the department to provide consistent workflow and coverage.
• Operate machines and vehicles.
• Own and maintain personal required tools (3/8 – 5/8 combination wrench set, 3 sizes screwdrivers, 10” adjustable wrench, putty knife, gasket scraper).
• Maintain steam guns, cleaning tanks, high-pressure hoses, blast equipment and all other essential tools.
• Maintain proper chemical PH level in all cleaning tanks and equipment to comply with city, state, federal and county regulations.
• Properly dispose of all used Hazardous chemicals, containers, and materials.
• Maintain all drains and grated trenches by removing the grates, cleaning, and digging out the trenches. Keep the blast area free of trash and dispose of used material.
• Work within and promote corporate values.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Must have ability to work with hazardous chemicals, solvents, strong soaps, and caustic cleaning chemicals or related cleaning agents on a daily basis.
• Complete respirator fit test as well as a health exam.
• Consistent attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Previous experience in equipment and parts cleaning preferred.
• Previous experience operating a forklift preferred.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.

• The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
• The employee must be able to occasionally wear a tight-fitting respirator and pass the OSHA required medical evaluation. The employee must not have facial hair that comes between the sealing surface of the face piece and the face. The employee must be able to wear an air fed helmet at all times when sand blasting.
• This position is designated as a "Safety-Sensitive Position".
