Reporting into Technical Engineering Manager, the Graduate Mechanical Engineer will join our Engineering Department on a 2 year fixed-term basis at our Parts Distribution Centre in South Guildford, WA.This role involves crafting certified, safe, and legally compliant Engineered Designs.

 

Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours/day (including meal break)

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Creation of approved Engineered designs/solutions.
  • Assist with the analysis of Engineering Work Requests and consultation with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and CAT systems to evaluate and select/create designs that fulfil technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Assist with the analysis of existing Dealer Provided Options (DPO) and consultation with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and CAT systems to evaluate and select/create designs that fulfil customer requirements and technical specifications.
  • Conduct compliance, safety and risk assessments.
  • Scope out, design and conduct appropriate analysis for Engineering activities.
  • Conduct/document design calculations and drawings.
  • Produce 3D models of modifications to CAT machinery using Inventor CAD software.
  • Work with senior team members to create safe and compliant designs
  • Review engineering requests and consult with stakeholders to meet specifications
  • Conduct safety and risk assessments
  • Create 3D models using Inventor CAD software
  • Collaborate with Electrical Engineers on design documentation
  • Develop design verification plans and reports
  • Support various business operations with engineering expertise
  • Organise and maintain engineering records

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Recently completed Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Work independently and in a team
  • Knowledge of mobile plant operations (Desired)
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and Autodesk Inventor (Desired)
