Job Summary: 
The Event Manager oversees the company's and customer events, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met. This role will direct and coordinate activities to prepare for the event. Travel is required to other Ohio Machinery locations or customer locations. The individual in this role will partner with division leaders, develop budgets, maintain vendor partnerships, collaborate with Marketing on promotional activities, and analyze event performance.  
 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Plans and organizes events with divisional managers.
  • Develops event costing and determines vendor selection and pricing for event collateral. 
  • Works with all industry associations to further promote relationships with Ohio Machinery
  • Defines the company brand through events.
  • Calculates costs and budgets, making necessary adjustments.
  • Works with other Marketing staff to promote the event via email, fliers, and social media to increase awareness.
  • Ensures that staffing is adequately prepared for the event.
  • Pays vendors for their participation in the event.
  • Sets up booth and machines for the event.
  • Analyzes event performance and, with the Director of Marketing, determines evaluation metrics.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related discipline  
  • Three to five years of Marketing or advertising agency experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as external business partners and industry associations.
  • Strong organizational skills, paying close attention to accuracy and details.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interact with all personality types to maintain solid working relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related discipline.  Three to five years of Marketing or advertising agency experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as external business partners and industry associations.
  • Direct Marketing, Market Segmentation, Marketing Research, Coordination, Project Management, Reporting Research Results, Understanding the Customer, Process Improvement, Initiative, Planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Knowledge of event planning software is preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight(up to 50 pounds); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Physical demands are necessary to execute events properly, including setup and teardown. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
