Department Overview

The Aftersales Service team is at the core of WesTrac’s Perth Branch Operations success. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll work in a modern, well‑equipped workshop alongside other technicians within a supportive, safety‑first environment. Strong systems, quality leadership and access to industry‑leading training through the WesTrac Institute ensure you’re set up to succeed.

 

Roster

Monday to Friday | 5/2 Roster | 10 hrs/day | 2 weeks Days, 1 week Afternoons

 

What You’ll Do

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar and associated construction equipment.
  • Work on both component (cylinders, transmissions and engines) and full machine rebuilds.
  • Perform general maintenance and servicing.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality and efficiency in all workshop activities.

 

Responsibilities / About the Role

You’ll be a key contributor within the workshop, working across a wide variety of equipment from skid steers through to CAT 988 loaders and all associated components. This role suits someone who values teamwork, safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Trade-qualified Mobile Plant Mechanic
  • Hands-on experience on heavy construction equipment and components rebuild
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and punctuality
  • Open to ongoing development and aligned to WesTrac SPARC values (Safety, Pride, Accountability, Respect and Customer).

 

Qualifications / Tickets:

  • Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent Plant Mechanic trade)
  • LF High Risk Licence
  • DG Licence
  • (Air Conditioning Licence – desirable)
