In just 12 weeks, you’ll gain paid training, real-world shop experience, and the opportunity to transition into a full-time Caterpillar technician role.

About the Program
This is a full-time, paid 12-week internship designed to fast-track your entry into a technician career.
- Start Date: Mid-July 2026 (exact date to be confirmed)
- Phase 1: 6 weeks of paid classroom and lab training
- Phase 2: 6 weeks of paid, hands-on shop experience
- Work alongside experienced technicians and dedicated mentors
- Receive Caterpillar dealer-specific technical training
- Travel may be required, including 3–4 consecutive weekdays for off-site training during the program
Upon successful completion, you will be eligible for consideration for a full-time technician position.

Physical & Working Requirements
This role involves hands-on mechanical work in a shop environment. The employee must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. These functions may include:
- Safely and repeatedly lifting components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance
- Safely lifting, carrying, and lowering components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance
- Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials
- Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights
- Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods
- Safely operating tools and equipment
Post-Offer, Pre-Employment Requirements
Final candidates will receive a conditional offer of employment contingent upon successfully completing a post-offer, pre-employment process. This process may include:
- Drug and alcohol screening (including marijuana, as Foley is a federal contractor and subject to federal requirements)
- Criminal background check conducted in accordance with applicable laws
- Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, where applicable
- Job-related physical assessment to evaluate ability to safely perform essential job functions
