Field Service Welder - Earthmoving
Field Welders are responsible for welding, fabricating, buildup and repairing heavy equipment and parts in a field environment. Must maintain the ability to troubleshoot and function as a welder with little or no direction and/or assistance.
Essential Responsibilities & Expectations
- Adheres to and follows all applicable and required safety standards and procedures
- Weld/salvage parts on frames, engines, hydraulic systems, attachments and related power train systems and do all sorts of custom fabrication.
- Regularly inspects equipment for welding and/salvaging possibilities by visual inspection, and by the use of testing, diagnostic and measuring equipment to determine problems or malfunctions.
- Able to diagnose and assess to equipment to fabricate repairs.
- Clean and service all welding machines
- Orders and return parts for assigned jobs in timely manner
- Test and adjust components for optimal performance
- Works independently in a field environment
- Must have a valid driver’s license to be eligible for hire.

Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or the equivalent
Experience
A minimum of one (1) year's work experience involving mechanical repairs or a combination of relevant experience and equivalent technical education is required. Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills are required.

- CDL
- MVR (required)

- Intermediate engine, transmission, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic, and repair skills
- Written communication skills
- Basic computer skills

Working Conditions
Work is normally performed in a Service Department shop. Exposure to physical risk and all-weather conditions is associated with this position. Standing on hard surfaces for extended periods of time is often required.
