Staff Accountant
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including ledger-to-subledger reconciliations and project accounting.
- Prepare and review bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving variances.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to audit requests.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards (GAAP).
- Analyze financial results and assist in identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support tax-related activities including gathering and reconciling sales and use tax data, as applicable.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Accounts Payable, Procurement, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2–3 years of accounting or related experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
