Cash Application Processor

Position Summary

The Cash Application Processor is responsible for accurately applying customer payments to accounts, researching payment discrepancies, and supporting the Accounts Receivable team to ensure customer accounts remain current and accurate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Process and apply customer payments received by check, ACH, wire transfer, credit card, and other payment methods.
• Match payments to customer invoices and accounts.
• Research and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, and payment discrepancies.
• Communicate with customers and internal departments to resolve payment issues.
• Maintain accurate payment records and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile daily cash receipts and ensure transactions are posted accurately.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to cash applications.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or business preferred.
• One to three years of experience in accounts receivable, cash applications, accounting, or a related financial role preferred.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with ERP or accounting software is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
• Occasionally lift or move items up to 15 pounds.

Work Environment

• Primarily performed in an office environment with regular use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment.
