Credit Administrator

Overview: Do you want to work independently but still be part of a great team? Butler Machinery is seeking a passionate individual with several years of industry experience to assist our Credit department. This position is responsible for managing past due accounts, reviewing customer credit applications, reconciling customer accounts and providing exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers.  

Butler Machinery is the authorized Caterpillar dealer for North Dakota and South Dakota with 15 locations in North and South Dakota. Butler Ag Equipment has 4 locations in Nebraska and 1 location in Montana.  Butler offers Caterpillar products and services to support the construction and Ag industry and is proud to represent many manufacturers including: FENDT, AGCO, Drago, Challenger, Horsch, Killbros, Balzer and more.  Butler Machinery is a family-owned company offering great wages and a fantastic benefit package.

We have a generous pension plan with 10% guaranteed and up to 5% discretionary provided by the company annually once eligibility is met with no minimum required contributions out of your pocket. You travel to Butler locations via the company private airplane for such things as training, meetings and customer events.

Credit Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Managing past due customer accounts.
  • Collection efforts through various channels.
  • Reviewing customer credit applications and granting or denying credit on information found.
  • Depositing and application of customer’s checks.
  • Reconcile and research customer’s accounts.
  • Communication with various departments, stores, and customers relating to customer account inquiries.
  • Individual to work until 6pm one evening a week is required.
  • Occasional travel in ND, SD, MT, & NE.
  • Other duties as assigned

Credit Administrator Qualifications:

  • A two-year degree in accounting or business and/or equivalent training and experience required.
  • Two years’ experience in Accounts Receivable, Collection, or Customer Service preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is essential
  • Strong problem-solving skills preferred
  • Good decision-making skills required
  • Ability to build working relationships internally and externally
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks in an efficient manner
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal are a must
