JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
On an on-call basis, the Driver On-call will transport/shuttle on-highway trucks, fire trucks, ambulances, and other vehicles as needed from various customer and Ohio Peterbilt locations in support of our service and new truck sales departments.
Present self in professional demeanor and appearance.
Must have the ability to interact with multiple levels of customers and managers.
Perform visual walk-around inspection of vehicles prior to transporting to ensure any damage is noted.
Keep accurate records of vehicles shuttled.
A self-starter that can work independently with minimum supervision.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience driving commercial vehicles such as on-highway trucks, fire trucks,s or ambulances. Must have a clean, valid driver’s license and CDL
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit for extended periods. Ability to stand for up to two hours. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to see for purposes of reading printed material and driving. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels. Ability to speak so that others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation both in person and over the phone. Flexibility to work extended hours as needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
