Overview

The EPG CSA Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and inspections on CAT and Non-CAT engines and generators in the field.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent. 
  • One year of experience servicing heavy equipment or mechanical equipment.
  • Electric Power Generation equipment service and maintenance knowledge.
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical and mechanical safety and operational procedures.
  • Able to perform machine inspections.
  • Ability to operate a lube field service vehicle. 
  • Organizational and time management skills required. Ability to work independently, set and keep priorities, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills with solid written and oral communication skills is required.
  • Must represent Blanchard Machinery and interact with the customers in a professional manner.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.). 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy. 
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe and clear driving record. 
  • Able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays.

 

Working Conditions

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside (non-climate controlled) and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
  • Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
  • Physical use of a broad variety of tools and machines in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Must be able to lift varied weight.
  • Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
  • Use of computer and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of Blanchard Machinery Company.
  • Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Performing preventative maintenance by changing oil and filters, flushing coolant systems, replacing worn belts, changing batteries, and other preventative maintenance duties.
  • Performing Inspections by inspecting cooling systems, fuel systems, air induction and exhaust systems, lube oil systems, starting systems, generators, and related systems and components.
  • Follows all documented CSA processes and guidelines. 
  • Maintain lube records for all work performed. 
  • Ability to read Scheduled Oil Samples (SOS) reports and analysis. 
  • Provide service reports, oil samples, and inspection paperwork to customer as work is performed. 
  • Inspect equipment and safety devices for external signs of potential component failure or inoperable or unsafe conditions and report findings.
  • Prepares accurate and complete service reports in a timely manner. 
  • Maintain service readiness of lube field service truck including customer service fluid supplies.
  • Knowledgeable in the proper startup and shutdown procedures of CAT equipment.
  • Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
