The Field Serviceman will troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, change components, and perform maintenance on Caterpillar diesel and natural gas engines used in various industries and applications.  Other equipment such as heaters, air compressors, and generators, switchgear, and UPS units will also be serviced. The majority of the work will be performed outdoors or at customer locations.



Knowledge of CAT and other OEM engines, and experience repairing and maintaining generators (20 KW to 1.5 MW) and performing load bank tests.

Effective reading and writing skills with mechanical and mathematical aptitude. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Computer literacy.

The ability to read and understand schematics, service manuals, and repair diagrams.

Able to write accurate and descriptive service reports when jobs are completed.


High School diploma required

Two plus years of experience with Caterpillar engines, control systems, generators, and electrical distribution systems. The ability to accurately look up parts using SIS and other reference materials as required. Must be willing to frequently take calls, and be dispatched to customer locations after normal business hours and on weekends. The ability to obtain DOT certification to operate company vehicles. Must be willing to attend training classes which are sometimes held out of state



Lifting/Carrying 80 lb. and 50lb+ pulling.  Standing/sitting Up and downstairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines. Dexterity Normal, Repetitive Motions. Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
