Inside Sales – Rental Division

Ziegler CAT has an opening for an Inside Rental Representative 1. This position coordinates the inside rental of new and used equipment to achieve revenue goals. This position will also be responsible for contract administration, general filing/data entry duties and outbound cold calls driven by the CRM.


  • Develop high output rentals of machinery and create rental agreements.
  • Handle closing of rental contracts, distribution via mail or email, and invoicing and collection of payment on cash customer accounts
  • Coordinates equipment deliveries and returns
  • Sorting mail, general filing duties
  • Assists rental preparations with service
  • Deliver highest quality customer service to all customers
  • Provides accurate and timely customer invoices
  • Develops a knowledge base of rental fleet equipment and rental applications
  • Collaborate with other rental coordinators, outside and inside rental and sales staff, branch managers, dispatchers and shops to ensure the completeness of all paperwork and contractual agreements
  • Maintain a safe work environment both inside and outside of store
  • Completes required administrative reporting requirements
  • Answer in-coming customer phone calls quickly and efficiently
  • Updates equipment status and yard status
  • Assist with walk-in customers, outside sales force and work with dispatch team to ensure rental orders are completed on time
  • Works in a cooperative manner with team and superiors
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor or Branch Manager
  • Assists with after-hours, on-call responsibilities
  • Answers incoming calls from Sales Reps, vendors, or customers
  • Follows up with Sales Reps via phone and other interactions
  • Develops expertise with Ziegler’s rental software tools


  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-3 years of related sales experience required
  • Strong product knowledge of lifts, welders, generators, light towers and heavy machinery required
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work overtime and weekend hours as needed
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, non-verbal, listening
  • Excellent analytical skills such as problem solving and the ability to interpret policies, procedures and guidelines
