Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week) 

Job Summary:

Research, extract, verify, analyze, and produce data information for assigned operational area.  Provide information to operations managers and other departments upon request. Provide expertise in acquiring, managing, manipulating and analyzing data and reporting results as directed by the supervisor.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions.
  2. Research, extract, and verify data for accuracy and content.
  3. Train users and ensure data entry and processes are operationally consistent for reliable data retrieval.
  4. Collect and analyze data to support departments and current initiatives.
  5. Maintain a super-user status for DBS-EMS systems, Cognos, Excel, Sequel, Impromptu, and MS Query.
  6. Act as the liaison between programmers and assigned department to implement changes to various operational systems and reports.    
  7. Work safely at all times.  Adhere to all applicable safety policies.  Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Perform additional data extraction and analysis as needed.
  2. Perform data entry as necessary.
  3. Recommend and implement process changes for improved process efficiencies.
  4. Additional projects/responsibilities as required by managers and director.
  5. Work within and promote corporate values.

Additional Level Requirements

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  1. Must be able to interpret and analyze data sufficiently for meaningful reporting to management.
  2. Must have knowledge of statistics, at least to the degree necessary to communicate.
  3. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  4. Cognos Business System, Impromptu or MSQuery proficiency preferred.
  5. Must be proficient with AS400 (DBS) database files and data extraction knowledge.
  6. Must be able to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.
  7. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

Education and Experience:

1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
2. Minimum of 2 year degree preferred or equivalent experience.
3. Prior experience with data extraction and reporting.
4. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
