Parts Sales Representative – 2nd Shift – 19418

Schedule Days : Monday - Friday 

Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week) 

Job Summary:

Assist customers by accepting parts orders and processing them in the most expedient, efficient manner. Resolve client's challenging and complex parts situations. Support PSSR group, Parts Counter and Branch Operations. Facilitate shop expediting positions. Technical resource to optimize the client experience, promote client loyalty through follow-up on client satisfaction surveys. Duties may include responsibility for calls channeled through Mesa Parts Operations Solution Center.

Essential Functions:

  1. Acknowledge customers.  Set an example of good customer relations and intra-company cooperation.
  2. Write Parts Sales Orders (PSO).
  3. Know products sold and manufacturers represented.
  4. Receive mail-in purchase orders and confirming purchase orders.  Make oral and written quotations to the customer.
  5. Use the customer account list when processing open account parts orders.
  6. Accept credit returns from customers.
  7. Accept after-hours parts calls.  Build hoses for customers as needed.
  8. Works safely at all times.  Adheres to all applicable safety policies.  Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  1. Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to assist customers and employees in a professional manner.
  2. Ability to develop knowledge and use of Caterpillar and/or Allied reference sources.
  3. Sales techniques sufficient for recommending additional parts needed.
  4. Must have knowledge of Caterpillar parts, customer operations, customer transportation methods and Parts Department procedures and policies relating to Parts Sales Orders and Credit Memos.
  5. Ability to develop knowledge of Caterpillar and/or Allied parts, client operations, client transportation methods and Parts Department procedures and policies relating to Parts Sales Orders and Credit Memos.
  6. Ability to develop knowledge of Parts Exchange components, Caterpillar and Allied product lines and applications, and parts related work areas and their functions.
  7. Ability to develop proficiency in using DBS, SIS, Antares, and other computer programs in the performance of the job
  8. Mathematical skills sufficient for calculating discounts, taxes, and parts quotes.
  9. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.

Education and Experience:

  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  2. Prior experience in Parts, materials or similar industry preferred.
  3. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
