Job Description

Peterson Tractor has an immediate need for an experienced Parts Salesperson at our Chico, CA location.


This position provides customer assistance to the service department by researching, pricing, sourcing, and ordering of parts.

  • Provide “Customer First” experience via phone and walk in by understanding customer needs and exceeding their expectations.

  • Make high value recommendations to customers relating to parts and service needs.

  • Maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with established customers and develop new customers.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of company products, services, and parts including their price value relationships.

  • Complete all necessary transaction documents in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Follow up with customers on parts sourcing and the estimated ship dates and arrival of back ordered parts.

  • Research, recommend, and provide pricing for parts to external customers, and internal customers as needed.

  • Maintain current reference material as needed to supplement company information databases, for example, Peterson Information Folder.

  • Communicate customer needs to the appropriate PSSR.

  • Solicit assigned accounts by telephone as may be required.

  • Assist in other department activities as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of three years of experience in parts or sales, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
