JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Solicit parts and service for fire and emergency vehicles by calling on, and developing relationships directly with end-users. Promote pump testing, aerial/ladder inspections as well as mobile and in-shop service with the goal of growing the customer base and expanding offerings within existing emergency services customers.
The candidate must have an understanding of Fire Apparatus including auxiliary equipment and its functions. Also, they should have a comprehensive understanding of the chassis, chassis repairs, and how they should properly perform. Candidates should have the aptitude to give estimates for repairs and speak intelligently to customers served to pertain to work proposed. A successful candidate must be able to sell the value of Ohio CAT Service, understand the customer’s needs, and offer solutions. The desired candidate would have affiliations with Fire Associations or State Councils and installed relationships with decision-makers within assigned customers.
Must have five years’ experience in sales, repair, or supervisory position working with fire apparatus.
Have experience selling services, managing a territory, and working collaboratively within a service environment. Be familiar with current firefighting techniques and equipment to be able to communicate fluently with Fire Department officers and personnel. Basic communication and computer skills are required. Prior experience with Outlook, Customer Relationship Management software, and the Microsoft suite of products desired. Must have a valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
