JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Product Support Sales Rep will be responsible for supporting the growth of parts, service, and body repair opportunities specific to the school bus market segment. Successful candidates will obtain sales goals and divisional growth by building relationships with school districts within the assigned territory supporting both Thomas Built and all makes buses.
COMPETENCIES LIST AND DESCRIBE:
The desired candidate would have a technical sales background with a strong understanding of the school bus market including bus body, auxiliary equipment, and also chassis and engine. The majority of the time spent will be building relationships, selling value, and quoting and selling parts to school districts within an assigned territory. Additional responsibilities will include promoting our service department and body shop capabilities to support customers and grow the Ohio CAT brand. Candidates should have a basic understanding of proper vehicle and body repairs and be able to identify the parts that will be required for those repairs in or out of our own shops. Must be willing to travel to attend training, trade shows, and industry events as needed.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Prior truck, bus, or automotive industry knowledge desired.
Three-Five years’ experience in business development, territory management, or sales with a proven track record. Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills required.
Must possess the ability to listen to clients, understand challenges, and generate winning strategies.
Strong mechanical aptitude required. Computer proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Office, and CRM tools required.
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
